If you want to meet locals during your short visit or want to get a life time relationship with them, Downtown Yoga is a great place to try. Downtown Yoga, situated in the center of San Jose, is one of the most popular yoga studios in that region. But they promote yoga not only in the studio, but also at cultural events and in the poor barrios of San Jose.

Their teaching language is Spanish, but most of the instructors speak English. As managers are native English speakers, you can easily discuss anything related to yoga with them or any concerns can be discussed with confidence before a class. As some yoga practitioners like to have massage session, they also have massage therapists available. You don’t need to get worried about accommodation as there is a hotel next door. Yoga Initiation ~ Intro to Yoga (Beginners)

This class is created for those who are new to yoga, It helps the student to go through the basic poses and breathing techniques of Vinyasa, building the foundations for a desired yoga practice.

Yoga Therapy ~ Therapeutic Yoga (Intermediate – Advanced)

Thursday 5:30 pm, Sundays 11:15 a.m. / 5:30 pm Thursdays, Sundays 11:15 a.m.
The class focuses on the attitude, alignment and action of the individual strengths, promoting the mental, physical and emotional well being.

Detoxification and Detox & invigoration~Strengthening (Intermediate – Advanced)

Wednesday 5:30 pm / 5:30 pm Wednesdays

This class is based on the style of Hatha yoga, combining poses and breathing techniques with the main 5 elements of a Chinese medicine, which help strengthen the body and reach deep intellectual and emotional center of the individual.

Hatha Yoga for All Levels ~ Mixed-level (Intermediate – Advanced)

Practitioners from intermediate to advanced levels can attend this class. This class will help participants to go through all posture and breathing techniques to calm the mind and align the body. It is an excellent choice for beginners to learn poses and for the more experienced to explore more deeply the poses. The class focuses on Maya calendar events.
