Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga is the eight fold path of yoga as outlined by Patanjali: yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, samadhi. The Ashtanga method of asana practice was interpreted by T. Krishnamacharya and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois from an ancient text called the Yoga Korunta, which described a unique system of hatha yoga developed by Vamana Rishi. The system of Ashtanga Yoga is often called Classical Yoga. The modern practice of Ashtanga Yoga provides us with the tools to explore and uncover these deeper aspects of existence, and discover our interconnectedness with all living beings.
