Rancho Margot, an eco-tourism project set at the foothills of the Children\u2019s Eternal Rainforest, is a slice of ecological heaven overlooking Costa Rica’s Lake Arenal. Rancho Margot is a family run enterprise which focuses on Eco-business. This remote yet modern resort has 45 permanent and 8-10 rotating volunteers. Average annual total visitors is 10000 and so many of them are returning guests who just fall in love with this eco-tourism project. The ranch has lots of activities to do on and around the grounds and they also offer a free shuttle service to\/from La Fortuna.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eco-friendliness<\/span><\/h3>\n

Rancho Margot is located along the shores of Lake Arenal, with rivers and streams flowing through the property and right at the foothills of the Children Eternal Rain Forest, one of Costa Rica’s most famous conservation projects. In addition to providing a peaceful place that facilitates connection with nature, workers at Rancho Margot grow their own food, craft their own furniture, make their own soap, and derive all of their electricity from their onsite hydropower generators. Practically everything that is utilized throughout the eco-lodge is made onsite of the property or somewhere within the general region of Costa Rica. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"rancho<\/a><\/p>\n

Rancho Margot inspires the guests to incorporate the concept of sustainability into their own lives. The organic meals served at Rancho Margot and buffet-style breakfast are included on the rate. This property also features home-made pizzas and regional food. Everything from the bar soap, to the benches were made on property. All of the daily food for guests and workers are derived from Rancho Margot\u2019s organic garden, cows, pigs, and chickens, which make\u2019s way for the ultimate in healthy dining.<\/span><\/p>\n

Accommodations<\/span><\/h3>\n

Rancho Margot is an off the grid, integrated, working ranch striving together with people from allover the\u00a0 world to promote a self sufficient social-economic model of which the world is in need of today.\u00a0 Surrounded by forest and hills, the Rancho Margot includes 5 bungalows for up to 4 guests each with their own terrace and also 20 rooms for two people equipped with bunk beds which also offer 5 shared showers & toilets.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

These bungalows have outdoor terraces with a hammock and sitting area, private bathrooms with a hot shower stocked with handmade soaps, and extra amenities such as ceiling fans and mosquito nets. The employees are incredibly friendly and helpful and kept the ranch up impeccably.<\/span><\/p>\n

200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training<\/span><\/h3>\n
Their 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is offered at the\u00a0Center For Natural Living Yoga Teacher Training. This course is divided into two modules. Each module takes 2 weeks to complete. So one can study two modules one after another without taking any break, or take either module separately. But if you want to get Certification approved by Yoga Alliance, you need to complete both modules within one year.<\/span><\/div>\n

Module I, 2 weeks<\/strong>: Techniques and Methodology including poses, meditation, sanskrit, and personal practice. Delivery and design of a yoga session, clarity of language, how to teach yoga to newcomers, creativity in leading a yoga session, and finding your own personal style are emphasized.<\/span><\/div>\n

Module II, 2 weeks<\/strong>:<\/span><\/div>\n

  • Week 1:\u00a0 Yoga Anatomy:\u00a0 4-5 days of full anatomy taught by Jo Ann Staugaard-Jones, author of Anatomy of Exercise & Movement and The Vital Psoas Muscle, from the US.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Week 2:\u00a0 Philosophy, pranayamas, integration of bandhas, energy systems and bodies, and assessments finalized by Irum Naqvi, director of the program.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
